Set on a steeply graded site high above Geneva Lake, this project required a careful balance of technical problem-solving and tasteful design. Our team developed a solid gameplan that integrates a new garage and lower level recreation space while also renovating the existing home to function as a cohesive whole. The new garage and recreation space improved access with a covered approach. Upon entering the new front entry, visitors are welcomed by a floating staircase that anchors the interior giving a strong visual and spatial center for the home. Given the home's elevated position, the design deliberately capitalizes on expansive lake views. Living spaces were oriented to maximize these sightlines. Despite significant site logistics and construction challenges, the final design reflects a successful and tailored response to the Owners style.
